This post is a little late. I wrote it (or something kind of like it) about a week ago and then lost it all. Only now have I recovered from my fury.
It's here! Busy season is finally over.
As you may know, January and February are termed "busy season" for auditors. I won't pretend like I know the details, but, essentially, an audit team has two months to look at its client's financials and then file an audit report, called the 10-K (this has nothing to do with tax season, let me clarify that once and for all). Anyways, what this all really means is that the team of auditors spends hours upon hours working to get this report filed in time. Brett put in anywhere between 60-90 hours of work every week for the past two months.
The greatest joy (read *misery*) was last Monday. The team had to file on Tuesday by 4:30. Brett told me on Sunday it wasn't looking good. That was putting it mildly, I think. He went into work Monday morning and didn't come home until Tuesday evening. No sleep in between.
His team sent in the report four minutes before the deadline.
I have nothing to complain about.
But, the good news is that it's all over. And I am loving having my husband back. If busy season taught me anything it's that I'm incredibly fortunate to have found someone that I want to spend every day with. No matter what's going on in my life, I have someone who will always care and will always support me. I'm a pretty lucky girl.
