PhD: Piled Higher & Deeper

Last night our school hosted Jorge Cham, creator of PhD comic strips, who gave his 1-hour lecture, "The Power of Procrastination."  For those of you who have never read PhD comics, stop reading right now, and go here

PhD comics is a grad student comic strip.  Cham was a doctoral student at Stanford, studying mechanical engineering, when he started a comic strip to portray the day-to-day life of graduate school.  His comics have become so popular that he no longer practices robotics, but instead travels full-time giving his hilarious lecture.  (And people say we don't use our degrees!)

I am not sure I have ever laughed so much in one hour before.  I'm usually not too into comedians.  But there's something very funny about a nerdy comedian.  I would try to explain to you how funny it was, but I think it might be better just to leave you with some of his comics...

  1. So glad you got to laugh - I particularly like the Odd Good's comic. :)
