First of all, thank you so much for all the kind responses to my last rant. I greatly appreciate all of you wonderful friends and family who are such encouragers and help me along the road.
Now, since my last couple of posts have been rather depressing, I thought I'd lighten the mood a bit. I have a quick story to tell you from class today. I should probably be sad about this, but instead it just makes me laugh every time I think about it. So here goes...
I was lecturing this morning when all of a sudden I heard distinct snoring. I paused and wondered how to address it. Usually just a small comment is enough to wake up a dozer, so I looked up and said, "That's funny. I could have sworn I just heard snoring." The class giggled a bit and I thought, "Ok good. The giggle should be enough to wake up the culprit."
So I continued to lecture.
Until I looked around the classroom and saw her.
There she was, in her green hoodie, hood over her head, the back of her head parallel to the ground, legs spread a part, arms dangling from her chair, mouth wide open. And I lost it. The sight of this girl completely knocked out was just too much for me to take in. I burst into laughter. I apologized to the class: "I'm sorry, but that is just too funny," which of course made everyone turn their heads. After a few seconds the entire class was laughing.
The best part? She just kept on snoring.
