Yesterday was the Elven family reunion. My mom has three sisters, so all three of my aunts on my mom's side came and all the cousins that were able to make it. We had such a great time together. Most of the day consisted of (you guessed it) eating, as all good events do, in my opinion. Each of the four families also brought some kind of game for everyone to play, which made for highly hilarious moments. To end the evening, we watched our wedding DVD (many thanks, Dr. Turner!), which was wonderful since the distance of the ceremony made it near to impossible for any of my Swedish relatives to come.
Today was a great day spent with just the Kermanshahi clan. First, Mom biked with Hanna, Brett, and me to find a Swedish flag, which has been a goal of ours for a while now. We were very successful: Brett and I found a huge one to hang in our guest room (I hope that image is as funny/awesome in your head as it is in mine). We then met up with the rest of the clan downtown for lunch to watch the Trollhattan Falls open. It was beautiful! The kiddos rode back home with Dad afterwards, but the other four of us ventured around Trollhattan a bit more. We went inside the Church of Sweden (and had free coffee, juice, and cookies...have I mentioned how much I love the Swede's eating habits?) and then took a short cable car ride over part of the city. Finally, we took our bikes to get some groceries and headed home. It was a very good day.
